On Saturday, the boys’ varsity soccer team played Lower Merion in the quarterfinals of the PIAA District 1 4A Boys Soccer Championship, winning 2-0.

Both teams had strong defenses in the first half, so by halftime, the score was still at 0-0. ’Stoga’s offense improved in the beginning of the second half, leading to a goal scored by junior Cole Frederick with an assist from senior Westin Fryberger. Conestoga’s defense continued to dominate and did not allow Lower Merion to score. Later, senior Michael Haley scored, assisted by senior Luke Nevins, and the game ended 2-0.

The boys advance to the district semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
