Girls soccer falls to Pennridge in PIAA 4A State Championship

The Conestoga girls’ soccer team fell short at the PIAA 4A State Championship on Friday night.

Within the first 11 minutes of the game, the girls let in two goals by the Pennridge Rams, bringing the score to 2-0. The Pioneers’ defense put up a strong fight with multiple saves by goalie and senior Greta Steege.

Junior Janie Lofland scored for the Pioneers at the start of the second half, bringing the score to 2-1. Throughout the half, the Rams scored twice more, ending the game at 4-1.

The girls’ soccer team is the 2023 PIAA 4A state runner-up.
