On Friday, seniors attended their last prom at the Phoenixville Foundry from 8-11 p.m. Conestoga staff greeted the students as they walked through the entrance into the two-floor venue, complete with a dance floor, outdoor tent and dining tables. The theme of the dance was “The Great Gatsby,” which could be seen through the glittery gold and black decor.

Some attendees danced the night away on the dance floor while others chose to spectate from the balcony above. The DJ blasted hits from the 2010s and took song requests throughout the night. The photo booth was also a popular attraction, where attendees took pictures in front of a backdrop with an assortment of props.

Throughout the venue, tables held snacks such as tater tots, doughnuts and nachos. Like last year’s senior prom, there was no sit-down dinner. If attendees needed a break from the excitement, there was a quieter tent attached to the building with drinks and tables available.

Many seniors looked forward to this event all year, with around 650 students in attendance.

“I was so excited to take pictures with all my friends all dressed up; I’ve been waiting for (prom) for a while,” senior Lily Jiang said. “The dancing and singing is fun too, especially for those songs that everyone knows, but it is super loud and sweaty. Overall, I’ve been enjoying myself.”
