Baseball falls to Marple Newtown 11-6

On Wednesday, the baseball team played Marple Newtown, losing 11-6.

Marple Newtown started the game strong, scoring five runs in the first inning and successfully preventing ’Stoga from scoring. The team widened its lead during the following two innings, scoring one run in the second and three in the third while the Pioneers stayed at zero.

In the fourth inning, the boys established a strong defense, and neither of the teams scored. Marple Newtown scored a run during the fifth inning, but the Pioneers managed to secure four runs.

’Stoga continued to work toward a comeback, scoring two runs in the sixth inning. It ultimately lost to Marple Newtown, ending the game 11-6.

The Pioneers will play their next game against Penncrest on Monday, April 29.

Outside of the newsroom, she researches other topics as part of Conestoga's National History Day Club and serves as a committee chair of the Mini-THON Planning Committee 2024.
