Boys soccer defeats Mechanicsburg 2-0, advances to state quarterfinals

The boys’ varsity soccer team defeated Mechanicsburg High School 2-0 in the first round of the PIAA 4A Boys Soccer Championship on Tuesday, securing a spot in the state quarterfinals.

The score remained 0-0 throughout the first half, although the boys made several attempts to score. Less than 10 minutes into the second half, junior Cole Frederick scored the team’s first goal, bringing the score to 1-0. Senior Kieran Chetty followed with another goal, assisted by senior Westin Fryberger, and the boys won the game 2-0.

The team will play in the state quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 11.
