‘Stoga celebrates Halloween with annual costume competition

On Oct. 31, students and teachers celebrated Halloween through department costume competitions, candy distribution and themed activities. 

Each faculty department dressed up in specific themes to compete in the annual costume competition. The English department dressed as Barbenheimer, science department as “Men in Black,” world languages as jungle, nurses as superheroes and secretaries as Snow White and the dwarfs. Academic support dressed as fast foods, the library as Barbies and math department as the Sixers. Student council representatives also dressed up: Seniors dressed as 90s hip hop, juniors as referees, sophomores as minions and freshmen as holidays.

Tanisha Agrawal is a senior and the Co-Sports Editor of The Spoke. She edits and assigns sports stories, tracks college commitments and lays out the pages of the Sports section. She covers sports features, community events and school policies. She completed the first half of high school in India, where she served as the lead editor for the school's history magazine. Outside of The Spoke, she leads the Bullhorn News, occasionally contributes to the Philadelphia Inquirer and represented Pennsylvania at the Al Neuharth 2023 Journalism Conference in Washington, D.C. At Conestoga, she leads the National History Day Competition team.

Lily Chen is a sophomore and the Design Editor of The Spoke. She designs graphic spreads, covers community events and 'Stoga sports, and has a passion for photography. Outside of the newsroom, she is a member of many clubs at Conestoga, including Speech and Debate and HOSA.
