On Monday, the softball team dominated against Garnet Valley with a score of 14-9.
Garnet Valley took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. During the second inning, Conestoga responded with a series of hits from juniors Adley Roseland and Abby Kilgarriff and also sophomore Avery Nicholson. The Pioneers won the inning 4-3.
In the second inning, senior Charlotte Friel scored a home run, allowing the girls to gain multiple runs. An additional strong hit from junior Michelle Braverman allowed ’Stoga to earn two points, ending the inning 6-4.
In the third inning, junior pitcher Kiera Norton delivered strong pitches, preventing Garnet Valley from scoring. ’Stoga continued its lead and finished the third inning 9-4.
During the fourth and fifth innings, ’Stoga maintained strong pitching and hitting, bringing the score to 12-6. The girls continued their lead for the sixth and seventh innings with Friel scoring another home run. Conestoga won the game 14-9.
The girls play their next game on Wednesday, May 6 against Haverford.
