On Tuesday, the boys’ lacrosse team lost against Penncrest 11-10.
Conestoga secured an early lead heading into the first quarter, scoring three goals in six minutes with strong efforts from offense. Penncrest responded, scoring two goals before the first quarter ended.
In the second quarter, Conestoga and Penncrest alternated between goals, with sophomore Charlie Pulliam bringing the score to 5-2. Penncrest scored with 50 seconds remaining, ending the quarter 5-3. During halftime, ’Stoga celebrated Youth Night with a fastest shot competition.
The third quarter began with an early goal from Conestoga. However, Penncrest scored three goals, taking the lead. To end the quarter, junior and captain Liam Donovan tied the game with a goal, bringing the score to 7-7.
In the fourth quarter, tensions ran high as the teams alternated between scoring, with Pulliam and Donovan bringing the score to 9-9. Conestoga eventually took the lead with a goal from senior George McGrath. With less than five minutes remaining in the game, Penncrest scored, tying the score at 10-10.
In overtime, Penncrest quickly scored to end the tight match 11-10.
The boys will play their next game on Thursday, April 16 against Upper Darby.
