“The TikTok ban was really surprising, but it was only for one day so I guess it was not that bad,” sophomore Sampurna Das said.

California wildfires

“I think that as a community, we should focus on recycling more. I think that would do a lot of great things for our environment. Also, I think that we should contribute more with cleaning up litter and making sure that there’s not too much waste on the ground,” Aguilar said. “And, it would really help our environment and the organisms all around us in our community. So, overall, I think that there’s a lot of things that each individual in our community can do to help the environment.” sophomore Sophie Aguilar said.

Eagles win Superbowl

“I believe (the Eagles) did really great in winning the Super Bowl. I think a big important part of their success was the fact that they worked really well together as a team,” freshman Camille Arnault said. “A standout player would be A. J. Brown for me, because I think he did great overall.”

Labubus

“Personally, I think that Labubus should burn in a fire. I just think that they’re really weird. They freak me out whenever I see them,” senior Keira Beachell said. “I’ve only seen them in the wild maybe twice, but they freak me out. And the fact that they’re a trend creeps me out.”

“K-Pop Demon Hunters”

“I think it’s a really popular movie. I really like it. I think the songs in it are really good, and the plot is very good,” freshman Luiza Marques said. “I also like the big cat that’s in the movie. I think it’s my favorite character.”

U.S. tariffs

“I think he definitely got to lower those right now. Donald Trump has to lower them. I’m bewildered,” sophomore Adam Campbell said.

Government shutdown

“I feel like even though it went on for so long, it was still very apparent. I go to a lot of different national parks, and the effect it had on them was really obvious,” junior Jane Reynolds said. “Along with just small things, just trying to get stuff done for clubs that no longer had funding, it was very saddening to see, but also I guess it frustrated a lot of students who felt like they couldn’t do anything.”

The Life of a Showgirl

“I think (The Life of a Showgirl) is overrated. There’s some good songs, but I feel like there’s some lyrics that can be changed,” freshman Gio Permadhi said.

Louvre robbery

“I think it was very dumb of the security and all the people around because what do you mean a man in a few minutes stole so many artifacts that are supposed to be heavily guarded, but are not, because some people were just careless at their jobs. It was just really funny to me and really surprising,” freshman Simra Mahek said.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix F1

“I thought (the races) were pretty entertaining. The battle with Max Verstappen, Lando Norris (and) Oscar Piastri was nice,” Junior Dimitri Hinton said. “My favorite race was probably Abu Dhabi. You could really see Max (Verstappen) trying to go for it and Lando Norris, he did a pretty good race.”
