Playing in pink: Football loses to Garnet Valley 27-14

The boys’ varsity football team fell to Garnet Valley 27-14 on Friday during its pinkout theme game.

Conestoga started strong with a touchdown by senior Tommy Costigan in the first quarter. Garnet Valley responded with force, scoring a touchdown in the beginning of the second quarter.

Both teams kept the game close as senior Landon Ross scored another touchdown. Garnet Valley then returned with a touchdown, bringing the score to 14-14 by halftime.

With several interceptions in the second half, Garnet Valley scored another two touchdowns, and the Pioneers lost with a final score of 27-14.

The boys play their next game against Penncrest on Friday, Oct. 20.
