Conestoga High School hosted a “Senior C-Ya” on June 3 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. While ‘Stoga would have bid farewell to their seniors with a traditional commencement ceremony on that day, in order to maintain the social distancing order issued by Gov. Wolfe due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school postponed the graduation to July 26th
However, in order to honor the seniors on what would have been the date of their final farewell, the school hosted a senior drive-by during which students in the Class of 2020 were able to drive through a parade of their teachers while staying their decorated cars in order to maintain social distancing.
Though the event was temporarily in jeopardy due to a severe thunderstorm around 12:15 p.m., leaving thousands in the district without power, the skies cleared in time for many seniors to return for what seemed like a second chance to say goodbye to the school.
