Short distance sprinters and field event winter track athletes competed in the team’s second meet of the season at Ursinus college on Jan. 10 at 4 p.m. The meet was held on the indoor track at Ursinus and was lengthy, extending from 4 p.m. to about 8 p.m. The first race in which ‘Stoga athletes participated was the Girls 60 Meter Dash.
Junior Grace Lanouette placed first out of 25 runners with a time of 7.65 seconds and sophomore Lily Zhou placed fifth with a time of 8.20 seconds. In the Boys 60 Meter Dash sophomore Scott Miesen placed third out of 34 runners with a time of 7.28 seconds and freshmen Jack Collett placed seventh with a time of 7.40 seconds. In the Girls 200 Meter Dash freshmen Katie Billman placed fourth out of 27 runners with a time of 27.64 seconds and sophomore Jada Durham placed seventh with a time of 28.56. In the Boys 200 Meter Dash senior Nico Orozco placed third out of 32 runners with a time of 23.35 seconds and senior Andy Fabian placed 13th with a time of 24.93. In the Girls 400 Meter Dash junior Gabbie Castro placed seventh out of 26 runners with a time of 1:02.50 and senior Kiara Sprague placed ninth with a time of 1:03.10. In the Boys 400 Meter Dash sophomore Alyan Youssaf placed fifth out of 33 runners with a time of 53.52 seconds and junior Ethan Alexander placed 11th with a time of 56.23 seconds. In the Girls 4×200 Meter Relay the ‘Stoga team placed fourth out of 14 teams with a time of 1:52.64. The team included Lanouette, Kiara Sprague , freshmen Catalana Orozco and Castro. In the Boys 4×200 Meter Relay the ‘Stoga team also placed fourth out of 16 teams with a time of 1:37.80. The team included Collett, Nico Orozco, Miesen and junior Ethan Zhao. In the Girls Shot Put senior Alyssa Zawacki placed fifth with a seed mark of 29-00.50 meters out of 18 throwers and sophomore Kion Sprague placed ninth with a seed mark of 25-00.00 meters. In the Boys Shot Put junior Porter Fitzgerald placed 21st out of 25 throwers with a seed mark of 29-04.00 meters and freshmen Henry Bailey placed 22nd with a seed mark of 26-00.00. Overall seven of the 16 athletes received a medal in their events, as well as both relay teams.
