Conestoga students helped T/E school district elementary school students explore the world of science at this year’s fourth grade science night. Hosted on Thursday, April 15, the event allowed Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, otherwise known as STEM clubs to teach science to the students.
The Conestoga clubs involved in the event were the Biology Club, Chemistry Club, Robotics Club and volunteers from the National Honor Society.
The fourth graders participated in several demonstrations from each club. The robotics club allowed the students to interact with and observe some of the club’s robots. The chemistry club set up several stations, including playing with bubbles, making slime and food chemistry. The biology club had a live feed of a microscope view of a daphnia and hydra microorganisms fighting, a live pig heart dissection and DNA extraction from strawberries.
