On Tuesday, the girls’ volleyball team played against Downingtown West and took a tough loss 3-0. The first set kicked off with ’Stoga taking a strong lead. However, after a back and forth with Downingtown West, the girls lost the first set 26-24.
The Pioneers scored early into the second set, but Downingtown West quickly responded and took the lead 8-4. ’Stoga struggled to bridge the gap as Downingtown West continued to score points, extending its lead 21-14. After a hard battle, the girls fell short at the end of the second set as Downingtown West won 25-15.
In the third set, the team made an impressive comeback, scoring five points in a row while holding Downingtown West off at game point 24-23. Despite the girls’ strong offense, Downingtown West scored its last point and won the set 25-23.
The girls will play their next home game on Thursday, Sept. 25 against Garnet Valley.
