On Friday, the football team played its first game of the season, falling to Owen J. Roberts 32-10.
Owen J. Roberts struck first, scoring a touchdown, but the Pioneers quickly responded. Senior kicker Rayan Irani scored a field goal to start the second quarter, making the score 7-3.
Following Conestoga’s field goal, Owen J. Roberts scored two touchdowns to extend their lead 17-3 going into halftime.
Owen J. Roberts continued to battle in the second half by scoring two touchdowns. One was a 94-yard quarterback run, followed by a two-point conversion that expanded their lead to 32-3.
’Stoga finished strong by scoring a touchdown to end the fourth quarter. Sophomore Hight Lange rushed into the end zone, concluding the game 32-10.
The Pioneers play their next game against Upper Darby on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.
