On Monday, the boys’ baseball team defeated Upper Darby 7-1 for their senior night and last game of the regular season.
Neither team scored runs in the first two innings. However, in the third inning, Upper Darby scored a run, leading 1-0. In the fourth inning, senior James Quici scored a run, tying the game 1-1.
In the fifth inning, the Pioneers gained momentum by scoring two runs from juniors Chase Cherny and Josh Lee. The boys strengthened their lead with four more runs in the sixth inning by Lee and seniors Aidan Bakker, Angelo Bertolotti and JP Tinneny, ending the game 7-1.
This win renders the team playoff-bound.
