On Tuesday, the boys’ lacrosse team lost to Marple Newtown 11-6 in their final game of the season.
Conestoga scored first and quickly gained the lead, but Marple Newtown battled back and took an early lead of 2-1. Sophomore Brian Ford responded, tying the game. At the end of the first quarter, Marple Newtown scored, making the score 3-1.
At the beginning of the second quarter, Conestoga rallied back, scoring two goals. However, Marple Newtown regained the momentum, scoring twice to take a lead of 5-4 going into halftime.
After halftime, Marple Newtown began to pull away from Conestoga, scoring two goals. Senior James McGrath chipped away at the opponent’s lead, but Marple Newton scored again at the end of the third quarter, making the score 9-5.
Marple Newtown continued to extend its lead by scoring two goals in the fourth quarter to win the game 11-6.
Conestoga’s boys’ lacrosse team ended the season with a 7-7 record.
