The girls’ lacrosse team secured an 8-3 victory against Penncrest on Tuesday.
The Pioneers had a strong start with junior Carolyn Jones scoring less than two minutes into the game. The girls scored again shortly after, giving them a 2-0 lead. Penncrest responded with a goal, but Conestoga was able to maintain its lead, ending the first quarter up 3-1.
Throughout the second quarter, the girls continued scoring with strong offense and defense. Senior Georgia Rios scored in the final minutes and gave Conestoga a 5-1 lead to start the second half.
Moving into the third quarter, the girls maintained a strong defense and held back Penncrest, closing the quarter with two more goals. In the fourth quarter, freshman Price Orcutt scored the Pioneers’ final goal. While Penncrest later scored two more goals, the Pioneers ended the game winning 8-3.
