On Tuesday, the boys’ lacrosse team faced off against Avon Grove and took a tough loss 5-4. 

The Pioneers started off strong, and within the first few minutes of the game, sophomore Brian Ford scored a point. Senior Holt McGinn was able to make another goal during the second quarter, leading the Pioneers into halftime at 2-0. Through the rest of the first half, senior Mikey Johnson’s goalkeeping was enough to keep Avon Grove from getting any points during the first and second quarters. 

After halftime, the Pioneers were able to score another goal, but Avon Grove caught up and scored three goals. In the final quarter, the match got tense as the teams tied at 3-3.  As the opposing team strengthened their defense, McGinn’s offense made Conestoga’s last goal of the match. Although they gave a resilient fight, the boys lost the match 5-4.
