On Friday, the boys’ ice hockey team won 6-0 against Lower Merion, outshooting the Aces 38-26.
The boys started off with an early goal eight seconds into the first period by sophomore Henry Spottiswoode, assisted by defenseman and sophomore Sawyer Getz. Twelve minutes later, Spottiswoode scored again with assists by defenseman and junior Stephen Branov and senior Daniel Delaney.
The Pioneers’ offensive plays were consistent throughout the game. In the second period, defenseman and junior James Stagnaro scored, assisted by Spottiswoode, followed by another goal by Spottiswoode, assisted by Getz and junior Aydan Meyer, marking a hat trick for Spottiswoode.
In the third period, junior Shane Keller scored a goal four minutes in, assisted by freshman Ethan Rotwitt. Then, 10 minutes later, Rotwitt scored a goal of his own, assisted by Stagnaro and defenseman and freshman Noble Johnson. Goalies senior Jacob Rotwitt and sophomore Max Haimson made 26 saves combined to post a shutout for Conestoga.
The boys play next on Feb. 6 against Marple Newtown at Ice Line.
