On Thursday, the boys’ basketball team lost to Penncrest 62-51.
Junior Shane O’Brien scored points late in the first quarter, with two three-pointers and a successful free throw. However, Penncrest ended the first quarter with a slight lead of 12-10. Sophomore Luke Hunter made two free throws, but Penncrest continued to stay ahead. The first half ended with Penncrest leading 29-19.
After halftime, O’Brien scored a three-pointer and made three free throws, and junior Rowan Miller scored four free throws and a two-pointer, contributing to Conestoga’s comeback effort. In the third quarter, the team scored 19 points and lessened the gap to 46-38. In the last quarter, the team failed to complete the comeback and lost 62-51.
The Pioneers play their next game on Saturday, Jan. 11 against Springfield.
