The girls’ soccer team lost to Downingtown West at the PIAA 4A State Championship on Saturday, ending their season as the state runner-up.
The Whippets scored a goal within the first five minutes. Senior Mackenzie Hogan tied the score for ’Stoga, and junior Kate Kemmerley scored minutes later, leading Downingtown West 2-1. Late into the first half, Downingtown West managed to tie the score 2-2 heading into halftime.
The game eventually went into overtime, where Downingtown West scored a goal, taking a 3-2 win against ’Stoga.
