On Thursday, the football team lost a close game against Lower Merion with a final score of 40-38.
Lower Merion took an early lead, ending the first quarter 14-12. In the second quarter, Lower Merion scored two touchdowns, but the Pioneers responded with two touchdowns of their own to make it 28-26. Each team scored one more touchdown, with Lower Merion ending the half with a 34-32 lead.
The third quarter contained strong defensive performances from both teams, and the score remained at 34-32. In the fourth quarter, Conestoga scored the first touchdown to gain a 38-34 lead, but Lower Merion responded and scored a touchdown with 3 minutes remaining, ending the game 40-38.
The team plays its next home game against Haverford on Oct. 25.
