On Tuesday, the boys’ soccer team faced off against Lower Merion, winning 2-1.
The first half of the game was closely contested, with both teams exchanging scoring opportunities, but ultimately ended 0-0.
Lower Merion came out strong after halftime, scoring a goal two minutes into the half. Conestoga responded five minutes later when sophomore Daniel Poltaraus scored a goal with an assist from senior Zuwa Abhulimen to tie the score 1-1.
With 15 minutes left, Abhulimen pushed Conestoga into the lead off of a corner kick from junior Evan Cross, bringing the score to 2-1. The team showed great resilience as it was able to hold its lead, ultimately winning the game.
With the win, the team improves its overall record to 10-0. Its next home game is against Harriton on Oct. 1.
