On Friday, students lined the stands in black as the varsity football team played its blackout homecoming game against Harriton. Winning 35-6, the boys’ overall record improves to 1-4.
Starting the game strong, senior James Quici scored the first touchdown of the game. After a second touchdown by senior Timmy Bruder, the team ended the first quarter up 14-0.
Widening the gap, senior Ian McLaughlin scored a third touchdown. Harriton started making a comeback, securing its first touchdown and bringing the score to 21-6 by halftime.
Following the break, the Pioneers scored two more touchdowns and maintained their defense in the final quarter, finishing 35-6.
The boys play their next home game against Lower Merion on Thursday, Oct. 10.
