On Saturday, the girls’ soccer team defeated Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 2-1.
In the first half, the two teams traded blows until sophomore Payton McCall scored a goal with seven minutes left, bringing the score to 1-0. After halftime, junior Madeline Fox made a goal off a corner kick. Springside Chestnut Hill responded by scoring their first goal soon after, but the Pioneers defended until the end, finishing with a score of 2-1.
The girls’ next game will be on Tuesday, Sept. 17 against Penncrest.
