The football team kicked off their home opener against Springfield on Friday, losing 42-7.
Springfield gained an early lead with three touchdowns in the first quarter. They followed up with two more in the second quarter.
After halftime, Springfield kept up the pressure, scoring yet another touchdown three minutes into the third quarter. Conestoga responded with senior Matthew Scudder scoring a touchdown two minutes later. Ultimately, Conestoga lost 42-7.
The Pioneers will play their next game on Friday, Sept. 13, against Ridley on Teamer Field.
