On Friday, the girls’ volleyball team defeated West Chester East 3-2.
In the first set, West Chester East took an early lead, and despite strong spikes from seniors Cheyenne Bird and Skylar McKnight, ’Stoga lost the set 25-18. The two teams stayed mostly tied throughout the second set, but West Chester East managed a 25-23 win.
However, the Pioneers bounced back in the third set, taking a big lead and securing a 25-15 victory. ’Stoga carried the momentum into the fourth set, winning 25-21. In the fifth set, the teams scored points back and forth, but ’Stoga ultimately clinched the set with a score of 15-10.
The girls play their next game Monday, Sept. 9 against Marple Newtown.
