On Thursday, the girls’ tennis team won 7-0 over Penncrest on Senior Night. Afterwards, they honored their seniors with posters and dinner.
Senior Sarah Weng won first singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Senior and co-captain Soumya Sathyanarayana was leading 3-0 in the first set when her opponent withdrew due to injury. Senior Celina Zhang continued the singles win streak with a 6-3, 6-2 win.
The Pioneers also swept the doubles matches, with juniors Allie Frederick and Angela Manful winning 6-1, 6-0. To follow, freshmen Katie He and Dalia Tsang won their match 6-0, 6-1 and seniors Lauren Wu and Rebecca Wang claimed a 6-1, 6-3 win. Finally, senior and co-captain Anika Maganti and senior Sabrina Sandorff won 6-0, 6-0 to clinch a 7-0 win for ’Stoga.
The girls’ next match is against Upper Darby on Sept. 9.
