On Thursday, the girls’ volleyball team played against Villa Maria, winning in three sets.
Although Villa Maria took an early lead with a nine point margin, the Pioneers made a comeback later in the first set. Despite several brief ties in the score, ’Stoga clinched a 29-27 set. Maintaining the momentum, the girls led for the majority of the second set. Although Villa Maria managed to keep the score close, ’Stoga secured the set 25-21 with spikes by seniors Cheyenne Bird and Skylar McKnight. The team continued its lead during the third and final set. The girls finished strong and won 25-15 to secure the victory.
They play their next match against Radnor on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
