On June 4, Conestoga held the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2024, the largest class in school history. The event began at 6 p.m. with a speech from principal Dr. Amy Meisinger and the national anthem sung by senior Camerata members. Following the performance, TESD Superintendent Dr. Richard Gusick, school board president Todd Kantorczyk and student council executive president Michael Tierney gave speeches recognizing the class’s perseverance over the past four years.

Senior Camerata members performed “Louder Than Words,” accompanied by seniors and pianist Ryan Zhang, percussionist Ethan Marshall, guitarist Andrew Gardiner and bassist Joseph Cho. Following the musical act, seniors and commencement speakers Timmy Corben and Sanaya Irani spoke to the class, reflecting on their past four years and offering their advice.

Senior class vice president Alessandro Shah, treasurer Aryan Rana and Meisinger then presented the class gift, improvements to Conestoga’s eatery dedicated to helping the implementation of Lunch and Learn next school year.

For the first time, rather than administrators taking turns reading seniors’ names, the loudspeakers played a premade recording made by voice actors of all the names. Prior to graduation, seniors filled out a form for the correct pronunciation of their name. To correctly get the timing of the names when the seniors walked across the stage, each senior scanned a QR code before crossing the stage that played the audio recording of the senior’s name.

After all 682 seniors crossed the stage, the Class of 2024 threw their caps in the air, officially becoming Conestoga alumni.
