This past Sunday, the Desi Club transformed Tredyffrin Library’s meeting room into a thriving hub of South Asian culture. The annual Desi Night event united more than 50 students from different cultural backgrounds.
Adorned in traditional attire, students arrived at 5:30 p.m. As they entered the library, they were greeted with embraces from peers as well as the aroma of Indian spices. Tables laden with an array of dishes awaited: crispy chicken spring rolls, soft butter naan and lime soda, among other traditional foods.
At 7:30 pm, the energy shifted as the dance floor became the heart of the night. Club leaders played a pre-curated playlist filled with popular Desi tunes, igniting a dance party that showcased traditional styles.
The night drew to a close at 8:30 p.m. with some students still dancing on the dance floor.
