On Saturday, the boys’ lacrosse team lost to Downingtown West 9-5.
The team started the game with an early lead thanks to a goal by senior Charlie Newhall. Downingtown West evened the score a few minutes later, followed by senior Clif Hawkins securing a 2-1 lead for ’Stoga heading into the second quarter. Downingtown West then tied the score 2-2 before another goal by Newhall pulled Conestoga ahead, giving the team a 3-2 lead heading into halftime.
After halftime, Downingtown West tied the game 3-3 before scoring three more times, taking a 6-3 lead by the end of the third quarter. Hawkins and senior Adrien Grove each scored a goal in the fourth quarter, but Downingtown West ultimately beat the Pioneers 9-5.
The team will play its next game on Thursday, April 25 against Lower Merion.
