The boys’ varsity lacrosse team played Penncrest on Thursday, winning 8-7.
Conestoga started off strong as senior Charlie Newhall scored the first goal. By the end of the first quarter, Conestoga held a 3-0 lead.
The Pioneers scored another goal in the second quarter, but Penncrest responded with a goal of its own. By halftime, Conestoga led 5-3.
Conestoga scored another goal in the third quarter, making the score 6-3. One minute before the end of the third quarter, a goal by Penncrest brought the score to 6-4.
At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the teams traded goals, making the score 8-6. Penncrest scored another goal with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, but Conestoga closed the game out to win 8-7.
The boys will play their next game against Downingtown West on Saturday, April 20.
