By Emily Wang, Staff Reporter

On Thursday, April 18, the atrium buzzed with activity as ʼStoga Film held its annual FilmFest. From 6-8 p.m., the event celebrated student filmmakers and their work.

At 6 p.m., guests were greeted with a red carpet and a photo backdrop, setting the tone for the film festival experience. The event also included snacks and candlelit tables.

Senior Willard Johnson took the center stage to host the awards ceremony. People watched from the atrium steps as nominees from each of the four award categories – Best Cinematographer, Best Director, Best Writer and Best Editor – gave short speeches and received a golden statuette.

Adding to the night’s festivities, a poster contest featuring 15 student creations took place at 7 p.m. Attendees voted for their favorite posters before the festivities resumed at 7:15 p.m.
