Girls lacrosse beats Haverford 16-4

On Tuesday, the varsity girls’ lacrosse team beat Haverford 16-4, continuing its now five-game winning streak.

The Pioneers shot ahead at the start of the game, ending the first quarter 8-1. In the second quarter, goals from freshman Bianca Antonacci and seniors Eva Stagnaro and Kiki Liebezeit widened the girls’ lead, bringing the score to 12-1 by halftime.

In the second half, Haverford began to match the Pioneers’ pace, scoring one goal in the third quarter while sophomore Carolyn Jones and senior Ellie Wisch each scored once, ending the quarter 14-2. Conestoga stayed ahead in the last quarter, and sophomore Katie Mierzwa scored the final goal for the Pioneers, who came away with a 16-4 victory.

The girl’s lacrosse team will face Ridley on Thursday.
