On Monday, the boys’ varsity baseball team claimed its second win of the season against Upper Darby 12-2 during its Central League opener.

Upper Darby earned two runs in the first inning, while Conestoga scored its first three. The Pioneers powered through the next three innings. They scored a home run in the second inning as well as a cascade of RBIs, garnering eight more runs by the fourth inning.

In the fifth inning, the boys scored another run. Due to the mercy rule, the 10-run lead over Upper Darby resulted in the game ending early in that inning with Conestoga winning 12-2.

The Pioneers will face Germantown Academy on Tuesday, March 26.
