Baseball defeats Downingtown East 4-2 in season opener

The boys’ varsity baseball team beat Downingtown East 4-2 in its season home opener on Friday. 

Downingtown East struck first with a run in the first inning, establishing early momentum in the game. In the third inning, the Pioneer made a comeback, scoring four runs.

Downingtown East drew closer with a run in the fifth inning, but the boys were ultimately able to defend their lead to secure a 4-2 win. 

Conestoga will play next against Upper Darby on March 25.
