Conestoga’s literary and art magazine, The Folio, hosted its Inkwell event to promote its winter issue on Thursday. The event was from 6-8 p.m. in the atrium, taking on a 1920s-party theme with music and food. The evening included musical performances from several students.
“Lit mag is such a wonderful place filled with so many talented and creative people,” said junior and staff member of The Folio Isha Khanna.
Throughout the evening, students had the opportunity to purchase items such as sweatshirts and tote bags designed by The Folio. The winter issue was also available to read, featuring the work of the staff over the past few months.
“Everyone who has pieces in the lit mag are all so talented and creative,” said sophomore and staff member Ada Lavelle.
The issue includes various styles of writing and art, covering a large variety of topics, issues and emotions. The event served to promote The Folio and celebrate its members’ works.
“It (Inkwell) is one of the few times the creative community can get together and share our work with one another, whether it be poetry, art or music,” said junior Audrey Nguyen, one of The Folio’s business managers. “It’s also a chance for everyone to simply have fun and celebrate all that we’ve achieved the last semester.”
