Wrestling sweeps Lower Merion 44-21

The boys’ varsity wrestling team took on Lower Merion on Wednesday for its Senior Night meet. Conestoga won with a score of 44-21 and celebrated its seven seniors: Jude Cook, Jack Davidson, Charlie Gilmartin, Ben Loos, Nathan Moon, Jeremy Torresson and Logan Willrich.

The Pioneers started off strong with a 6-point win, followed by a match that kept ’Stoga in the lead 12-6. Conestoga maintained its momentum, with junior Clayton Keating raising the score to 21-6 and several more pins by other players.

Davidson increased Conestoga’s winning margin to 41-6 in a close match. Near the end of the game, Lower Merion made a comeback, securing a 3-point win and another series of 12 points. Despite its efforts, the game ended 44-21, giving Conestoga its fifth win of the season. 

The team will compete next at Panther Duals on Saturday, Feb. 10.
