The boys’ varsity squash team fell short during its game against Gilman on Friday, losing 6-1.
Out of the boys’ top seven matches, they lost six in a row before securing one win. Sophomore Kyle Wu narrowly lost his match 3-2, forcing a tiebreak in the second game. He made a comeback in the fourth at 11-4 but was unable to keep the momentum in the fifth game. Sophomore Ryan Ding broke the streak, winning 3-0 with game scores of 11-8, 11-4 and 13-11.
Senior Jake White and freshman Nathan Noll won 3-2 and 3-0 in the eighth and ninth matches, respectively, but were not a part of the overall score. White had scores of 11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 8-11 and 11-9. Noll had scores of 11-2, 11-4 and 11-7.
The team will play against Springside Chestnut Hill Academy on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
