The girls’ varsity ice hockey team took a 10-3 loss to Downingtown East on Friday.
’Stoga started off strong with senior Isa Thompson scoring a goal. Downingtown East then followed with a goal of its own, tying the game 1-1 by the end of the first period.
Downingtown East scored another goal at the beginning of the following period, maintaining the 2-1 score for the rest of the period. In the middle of the third period, the girls began to make a comeback as junior Darcy Malik scored, tying the game 2-2.
However, in the latter half of the period, Downingtown East scored three more goals. Malik scored again to bring the score to 5-3, but Downingtown East followed with five consecutive goals and secured a final score of 10-3.
The girls play their next game against Henderson on Friday, Dec. 15.
