The girls’ varsity field hockey team beat Upper Darby on Thursday 10-0.
The game started strong as junior Shae Wozniak scored two goals in the first quarter, along with juniors Lexi Patterson and Hannah Simon who scored one goal each. Seniors Keating Hopkins and Emma Nikolic, along with freshman Maia Asselta, scored a total of three goals in the second quarter, bringing the score to 7-0 by halftime.
During the second half, Upper Darby pushed back with a few close attempts at a goal that the Pioneers managed to prevent. Sophomore Emily Todd scored two goals in succession, and freshman Kate Jarema scored another to end the game 10-0.
The team’s next game is against Agnes Irwin on Saturday, Sept. 30.
