Girls tennis wins against Upper Darby 7-0

The girls’ tennis team played its 10th match of the season against Upper Darby on Wednesday, winning 7-0.

The Pioneers secured an early lead in the singles matches with seniors Kate Emmanuel, Melissa Fan and Jennifer He each contributing a 6-0, 6-0 win.

In the doubles matches, the team continued to win. Partners and seniors Britta Burling and Kerry Harley won 6-1, 6-0. The team kept the streak with a 6-0, 6-0 win from partners and seniors Sarah Phillips and Maya Shah. Partners senior Georgia Koelle and sophomore Kaitlyn Parson brought another victory for the Pioneers with a score of 6-0, 6-0, and partners freshman Sophia Brown and sophomore Lauren Pinheiro secured a 6-1, 6-0 win to bring the final score to 7-0.

The girls play their next match on Thursday, Sept. 14 against Lower Merion.
