Girls soccer maintains lead, narrowly winning 3-2

The girls’ varsity soccer team hit the ground running at its second game of the season against Avon Grove High School this afternoon. Juniors Amelie Stewart and Izzy Allred scored two goals respectively, securing a score of 2-0 before halftime. Following halftime, junior Janie Lofland scored, bringing the girls to a three point lead. 

While the final minutes of the game approached, Avon Grove made a comeback and scored two goals. However, the Pioneers maintained a strong defense and won with a score of 3-2.

The girls play their next home game against Strath Haven High School on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Outside of the newsroom, she researches other topics as part of Conestoga's National History Day Club and serves as a committee chair of the Mini-THON Planning Committee 2024.
