Girls soccer dominates Great Valley 5-0

The girls’ soccer team had a successful start to the season this afternoon, beating the Great Valley Patriots 5-0. 

With goals from junior Amelie Stewart and sophomore Kate Kemmerley in the first half, the Pioneers entered halftime up 2-0. In the second half, sophomore Lauren Grimes and junior Isabelle Allred scored, bringing the count to 4-0.

With six seconds left of the game, senior Izzy Sellig scored ’Stoga’s final goal, leaving the game with a score of 5-0.

The girls play their next game at home against Avon Grove on Friday, Sept. 1.

Shreya Vaidhyanathan is a senior and the Co-Managing Editor of The Spoke. In her time at The Spoke, she has served as a Webmaster and the Opinion Editor. In furthering her commitment to journalism, Shreya works closely with the Student Press Law Center to secure student journalists’ constitutional rights and hopes to get the the PA Student Journalism Protection Act passed. She also interns for state Senator Carolyn Comitta, holds a black belt in Tang Soo Do and leads a childhood cancer research fundraiser with Conestoga's student council.
