Nail biting finish: Football narrowly beats Lower Merion

The Varsity Football Team started Friday night’s game off strong, moving into halftime with a lead of 12-0. Scoring the Pioneer’s two touchdowns of the game, Seniors Jon Quici and Jeremy Friend helped the boys maintain their edge through the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, tensions rose as Lower Merion scored two touchdowns, bringing the score to 12-14. But, in the final three seconds of the game, senior Chalie White saw the boys to victory with his 19-yard field goal.
The Pioneers won the game 15-14. They are now 2-0 and their next game is on Friday, Sept. 9 at Strath Haven High School.
