Within the first minute of Friday’s Conestoga vs. Strath Haven varsity football game, Patrick Reilly scored a touchdown on behalf of the Pioneers. By the end of the first quarter, ’Stoga was off to a good lead, with a score of 7-0. During the second quarter however, Strath Haven scored three touchdowns, ending the first half 21-7. After two impressive performances by both marching bands, the second half didn’t see the recovery needed for a Pioneer win. Neither team scored during the third quarter, but Peter Detwiler’s touchdown in the fourth quarter gave ‘Stoga 14 points. In the end, the Pioneers lost 35-14; their season record is now 5-2.
