A good start: The football team wins its first game of the season

The Conestoga Pioneers officially opened their season 1-0 after beating Owen J Roberts in the season opener on Friday, Aug. 27. After a rough start to the game, the Pioneers ended the first quarter down 7-0. Thanks to strong offensive effort from quarterback Calvin Shirley and Patrick Reilly, ’Stoga mustered two touchdowns in the second half, tying the game 14-14 by the end of regulation. Heading into overtime, the Pioneers claimed their victory with Jonah Stein’s field goal, ending the game at 17-14.
