The Pioneer Pit was packed to the brim on Friday, Feb. 14 as students and community members alike were ready to watch the boys’ varsity team take on Downingtown East in the first round of District One Playoffs. The game started out with Downingtown East taking the lead, and staying ahead until the third quarter. Conestoga took charge and pulled ahead in the fourth quarter as the defense forced six turnovers, keeping the cougars from any chance they might have of getting a shot off. In the final seconds of the game, Conestoga was in the lead with a score of 45-44. Downingtown East went in for the final layup and the pioneers were unable to stop them, ending the game with a tough 46-45 loss.
